As the 2014 awards
have now officially come to an end, and we're gearing up for the 2015 ones to
begin, lets take a look back at all the fabulous fashion styles from the red
carpet this year. This year in red carpet fashion, it was all about high slits,
plunging necklines and cut outs, so finding a look that really 'stood out' to
me was rather difficult. I longed to find an outfit that was so unique and
beautiful and when I did, I really praised the person who wore it. So here
today, I bring you my ten of favourite Red Carpet looks from all over the
globe.
MARGOT ROBBIE -
GOLDEN GLOBES
Making her debut
on the Red Carpet, the Australian beauty stunned, just like in her break out
performance of Naomi in Wolf of Wall Street. Margot wore a cream Gucci
gown with a thigh high slit and statement jewel embellishments on the bodice
area of the dress. She paired the gown with emerald green Christian Loubitons,
limited jewellery and a simple undo.
LUPITA NYONG'O - THE
OSCARS
Not only did she
kill it at the Oscars, taking home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, she also
killed it on the Red Carpet. Wearing a pleated pale blue custom-made Prada
gown, she looked like a princess. Pairing the gown with, platform heels and
clutch also by Prada and Fred Leighton headband and Jewellery. Lets also take a
moment to look back and reminisce on this part in her speech..
CATE BLANCHETT -
THE OSCARS
Cate wore the
night’s most expensive ensemble and didn't she look just that. Cate dazzled in
an Armani Orive gown worth 100 thousand, teamed with 18 million dollars worth
of opal jewellery. Cate did Australia proud by bring home a well-deserved Oscar
for her role in Blue Valentine, and made a just as amazing speech.
CARRIE BICKMORE -
LOGIES AWARDS
Carrie looked like
a princess in a gold Paolo Sebastian gown. The bodice of the gown had beautiful
gold embellished lace and the skirt part was a stunning stand out gold
material. The outfit was topped off with a simple metallic belt and minimum
accessories. The only thing that would have topped of her outfit was the Gold
Logie, which I believe she should have won.
BLAKE LIVELY - MET
BALL
Everything that
Blake stepped out in this year blew me away. She always looked incredible head
to toe, but it was the outfit she wore to the Met Ball, that really took my
breath away. The Met Ball is an event where you dress to the nines, and Blake
did just that. She looked flawless in a sequined nude dress by Gucci, paired
with her signature loose locks and stunning man by her side. This girl could do
no wrong this year!
SARAH HYLAND -
EMMY AWARDS
Sarah rocked the
crop top trend gracefully at the Emmy Awards, wearing a Christian Siriano
ensemble that was fun, fresh and youthful, perfect for Sarah. I'm not a massive
fan of crop tops, but Sarah nailed it perfectly and elegantly, quickly making
it my favourite on the Red Carpet.
RITA ORA - MTV
VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS
Rita rivalled the
VMA's Red Carpet in a stunning red Donna Karan Atelier dress. A major side slit
coming practically to the hip, a plunging neckline and completely backless
dress left little to the imagination. I personally feel dresses like these are
normally over the top and you should pick one certain part of your skin to show
off, but Rita wore the dress so well that it became my favourite look of the
AMA's. She styled the dress gorgeously with strappy red heels, red lips and a
diamond chocker. Completing the look with her platinum blonde hair pulled back,
the look was prefect head to toe.
SHAY MITCHELL -
TEEN CHOICE AWARDS
Shay was hands
down the best dressed on the Teen Choice Red Carpet, looking glam in a Misha
Collection two-piece. The white lace crop and matching pencil skirt was paired
with Jimmy Choo silver pumps, a Roso rose gold clutch, campy plum lips and a
messy side braid. A very elegant and youthful look, perfect for Shay.
REBECCA JUDD -
BROWNLOW MEDALS
Every year Rebecca
stuns at the Brownlow Medals and this year was no exception. Pushing the
boundaries one again with a Jaton Couture tiered dress with a high neckline.
The dress was made from white mesh neoprene and teamed with printed silk on the
bodice and top of the second tier. This dress was all kinds of stunning. She
paired the outfit with a slicked back do, Chanel shoes, a Miu Miu clutch and
beautiful diamonds from Paul Bram. An outfit that is so unusual, yet so
beautiful on the right person, which happened to be the stunning model and
television presenter.
TERRY BIVIANO -
DALLY M AWARDS
Accompanying her
husband, Roosters fullback and retiree Anthony Minichello, the gorgeous Queen
Wag and Fashionista stunned all at the Dally M Awards. This year was Terry's
last year on the Dally M red carpet and boy did she go out with a bang. The
shoe designer pushed the boundaries with a gorgeous and revealing white cut out
Palas Couture gown. Paired with a slicked back up do and limited jewellery,
this look was the best for the night.
