Rememberlutions Jar

18:02:00

At the beginning of every year I try the tradition of New Year's Resolutions, and I either forget what they are or never complete them. Scrolling through Facebook one day, I came across a post on BuzzFeed that had this DIY project for a Rememberlutions Jar. “So what is it?” you ask. A Rememberlutions Jar is well.. a Jar, that you fill with all your memories and accomplishments throughout the year, and at the end of the year you can look back at the things that you did. My favourite thing about this is that it does not matter what you write, as long as it feels important or sentimental to you!

So to decorate, you can use things that you have around the house, or you can also find a lot of cheap decorations from a cheap store, like Dollars and Sense. So some of the things that you will need for this DIY are:

  • A Jar (You can buy one, used a food jar, or I even used an old candle jar)
  • Anything you want to decorate your jar with (ribbon, stickers, fake flowers, blackboard stickers, pictures)
  • A hot glue gun or super glue
  • Scissors

So all I did was set out all of my things on a piece of cardboard, as to not get glue everywhere, and got crafting! I used an old glasshouse candle jar for mine, and first decorated it with a black and white spot bow that I made, and superglued it to the side. I then superglued some little pink and white roses along the bottom of the jar, so add some extra colour. Added a blackboard sticker to the middle of the jar, where I then wrote my favourite saying, "Everything happen's for a reason". Lastly I placed some silver number stickers to read '2015' at the bottom right of the blackboard sticker. All I did next was place it on my bookcase with some strips of paper and a pen, (so I remember to write in it). And that is it, so quick and easy!

I also made a second one, which will be a Christmas gift for my best friend. So all I did for this was, hot glued a red bow that I got from a christmas cracker to the top middle of the jar. I then placed a blackboard sticker on the front of the jar, and glued a gold sparkly J sticker on top of that (as it wouldn't stick normally). Lastly I used some little gold glitter dot and star stickers to decorate the rest of the jar. For this I will be writing motivational quotes, my favourites things about her, etc, so it's just a jar full of love. I think this is a great sentimental and personal gift for someone close to you.

So that's it for this DIY! If you liked it comment below and definitely give it a try.
